Overview
Artefact is a narrative episodic game built on the Lamina1 metaverse platform in partnership with Neal Stephenson and Weta Workshop. Players explore a branching story through collectible digital objects called Artefacts, blending interactive fiction with Web3 collectibles and Hollywood-tier world-building.
Our Role
End-to-end game development and creative partner. We built the game itself—design, development, and deployment on Lamina1—plus full brand identity, game UI, animated assets, marketing graphics, and ongoing support for Weta Workshop collaboration.

Problem
9 weeks to collaborate with world class teams, and ship a full narrative-driven game.
Artefact had a partnership with Weta Workshop and a vision for narrative-driven Web3 gaming, but needed a team to bring it to life. They required full game development on the Lamina1 platform plus a brand identity that could stand alongside Weta's legendary reputation.

Solution
Hyper speed and aggressive coordination.
We built and shipped the game from the ground up—architecture, UI, and deployment on Lamina1. We developed a brand system around "progressive decay" with atmospheric visuals, animated elements, and modular assets. We managed the content calendar and produced over 30 video and static assets. The result: a playable experience that merges cinematic storytelling with Web3 collectibles.
